Real Life or Sitcom?

These are the trials and tribulations of our family. I think you will find that some things seem more like a sitcom than reality. We have the craziest things happen to us. I will attempt to relay some of them as they happen.

Taylor's News

Taylor got his driver's license this week. He is finally driving HIMSELF to school. Ahhh, it is so nice. But, it does make me feel sooo old. Oh well, had to happen sooner or later, right?

He was supposed to play in a golf tourney in Birmingham, AL this weekend. They cancelled because of the potential of a frozen course!! It has been rescheduled for next weekend, whew! It was going to be mighty chilly. Hopefully next weekend the weather will be warmer.

Here's a pic from Christmas break. He and Scotty went to Paris--Texas, of course, to duck hunt. This was his first time and he helped kill what you see here. ( And they were soooo good! Yummy!)

Where are we now?

Let's see, we sold our house in Big Oaks (the one where I grew the watermelons on my back patio!), moved into a smaller place about 3 miles away. We lived there less than a year (It is pictured above) . Larry put it on the market while I was gone to visit Mama and Daddy in Ringgold. By the way, we HAD discussed this, but I thought it was going to happen within the month--not in a weekend. We basically sold it in 4 days. Apparently, no one told the people in Tupelo that the economy was bad... We moved to Fulton, twenty minutes from Tupelo. Fulton is where Taylor has always gone to school and Larry and I both work. So, with gas prices and potentially 3 vehicles on the road, it made sense.

We are renting while we build in cute new subdivision in Fulton. I will get out and take some photos of the progress of the house when it warms up. It was 30 degrees today!! Yikes, is that cold.

Golfing in Meridian

Well, this is about our gazillionth tournament this summer... Ok, so maybe it is the 10th or 11th. Taylor has finished in the top 4 in all but one and has won 2. He is doing great. Right now he is the points leader for his age group. The web address for the Mississippi Golf Association is www.missgolf.org . If you go there you click on MJGA and go to the list on the left at the bottom for Point Series. Then click on Current Standings, Division B. They have a cool thing called live scoring, too. During the tournament, they post their scores on MJGA under the tournament in which they are participating. Larry can keep up with Taylor's score from his office! Cool, huh?

Boggs' Blog is Back!

Yee-ha! As I believe the great soothsayer, Alice Cooper, said, "School's out for summer!" Taylor and I are on the road once more. Summer golf has begun. Today we arrived in Greenville, MS for his third tournament of this week. Yesterday we were in Columbus, MS not Ohio. He placed third out of 24---that means hardware baby! Of course, I didn't have the camera:( But, I have it for this tourney... So, I'll try to put some pics on later.

Sandra asked to see the hula hooping Boggs pic. Well, I finally got it. I can't believe I am going to share this... Although it was printed in the college yearbook for all to see. Try not to count the many chins of Aunt Mary Sue, please.

The Watermelons!!

Ok, I guess it is quite obvious that I need more to do... But y'all, look at this! I can't believe I grew this on my patio! This will be the last post about the melons because we have pulled up the vine. It was about to take over!

The one behind me is from the patio, too! Next year, I will try tomatoes!

Well, guess what? My sweet little watermelon vine has "birthed" a baby watermelon, or two or three or four? Uh-oh. I am going to melons all over the patio. I will get a pic and post later. They are so cute.
